RETREAT FAQs

Whether this is your first or one of many retreats, there will always be questions that arise. I hope to answer them here, however if you have further queries please email retreats@movetomusic.org

 

What's the difference between a Comprehensive Wellness Retreat and a Yoga Retreat?

A comprehensive retreat will involve a wider range of activities, allowing participants to experience more than one concept (such as yoga, pilates and dance) in addition to opportunities to learn via talks, education and excursions.

It takes a holistic approach to wellness by feeding the body, mind and curiosity and caters for a wider range of participants as a result. A yoga retreat will often centre predominantly on yoga and its' various forms, with less emphasis on other concepts.

Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for women with a positive outlook who want to take time away from their daily lives to recharge and restore. The literal definition of retreat is to “withdraw or move back” so this retreat is designed to be peaceful and relaxing so participants have the time to recharge physically, and regain mental clarity. 

Is there an age limit for attendees?

This is an adult only retreat so you must be 18 years or older in order to book and attend. There is no upper age limit providing, upon completion of the health questionnaire and informed consent forms, medical approval is not withheld.

How many people will be attending?

The retreat venue can accomoodate 28+ people, however my desire is to host a small, more initimate retreat so numbers will be capped below capacity.

Can I attend on my own if I don't know anyone else?

Yes. One of the reasons for keeping the retreat size smaller than capacity, is to encourage participants to get to know each other and socialise. The ethos of the retreat will be centred around six tenets; Inclusion, Empathy, Respect, Openness, Kindness and Courtesy so all, irrespective of whether you arrive alone or with a friend, will be made to feel welcome.

What clothing should I bring?

We will be engaging in daily physical activities so comfortable, loose clothing is ideal and should you wish to go on an excursion or walks, comfortable, flat footwear is recommended.

If I have a shared room does each person pay a deposit?

Yes, each person pays their own deposit and includes the respective details of their roomate in the specified section before checkout. 

Can I transfer my deposit from one retreat date to another?

Deposits are non transferable as each retreat is independent of each other. 

I have specific dietary requirements, can I be catered for if I am vegan, vegetarian or have allergies?

Yes, there is space on the deposit payment form for you to list any dietary requirements and these will be relayed to the chef at the retreat.

If I make my own way to the venue, can I recover the costs of the transfer?

As the group transfer is pre-arranged at a special rate, if you choose to make your own way to the venue, this will be at your own additional cost.

What happens after I book?

You will then be officially welcomed as part of the "Time For You Retreaters" and an email will be sent detailing next steps. Between booking and the trip date, there will be numerous communications so please add the email, retreats@movetomusic.org to your safe list to avoid messages going into the spam folder and being missed.

What will a typical retreat day look like?

The program will evolve based on the needs and desires of the group but an example of how a day may unfold could look like this. We may rise early for a morning run, followed by morning yoga. the afternoon may involve a visit to the local market and early evening there may be a Pilates class. Dinner would be a chance to connect and deepen relationships and thereafter we may walk around the gardens observing the stars, before heading back in for sound or dance meditation.

Do I have to join in all actvities every day?

No, this is your time and you can spend it in the way that best serves you, although I would expect engagement with some activities and the group. 

What happens if the room type I want sells out?

If this happens then please CLICK HERE so you can be added to the waiting list.

How will waiting list places be allocated?

Waiting list places will be allocated in order of receipt. Should a space become available, an email or text message will be sent and recipients will have 24 hours to pay their deposits, before the next person on the list is offered the place. To ensure you do not miss any emails, please add retreats@movetomusic.org to your email address book.
