Pre & Post Natal

It is widely recognised that in the majority of cases, exercise during and after pregnancy benefits both mother and baby, however, accessing the correct resources to facilitate this, is not always straightforward or comprehensive.

According to NHS England "The more active and fit you are during pregnancy, the easier it will be for you to adapt to your changing shape and weight gain. It will also help you to cope with labour" and for new mums, subsequent to their 6 or 8 week check, exercise can assist both physically and mentally as they adjust to life with their new arrival.

Having qualified in Pre and Post Natal Pilates, my aim is always to listen and be guided by the mum to be or new parent;  providing a calm, safe and confidentially tailored programe aligned with advice from their other healthcare providers.

For pre natal clients, my aim would be ensure safe practice throughout all semesters paying particular attention to how you feel on the day and what your body feels capable of at that point in time, irrespective of plans or goals. 

Post-natally, in addition to addressing common post birth issues, such as pelvic floor strengthening and diastasis recti, the focus would be on providing everyday living exercises that can be completed in between sessions with baby.

My aim and passion is to simply support mums-to-be and new mums with their babies, so they can achieve their health, wellbeing and fitness goals and thereby thrive.
